The care and training of athletes is best accomplished through a team of specially trained professionals who work in concert for optimal outcomes. In that regard, certified athletic trainers (ATCs) and registered dietitians/certified specialists in sports dietetics (RD/CSSDs), who use evidence-based practice guidelines, are well qualified and positioned to provide high quality service to their athletes and organizations.
