The Health/Fitness Professional`s Guide to the Law, Legal Liability, and Risk Management: Part II-Applying the Basics reviews the major laws, legal liability exposures, and risk management strategies that exist in each of the following seven areas: employment issues; pre-activity health screening; health/fitness assessment and prescription; instruction and supervision; exercise equipment; facility risks; and medical emergency-action plans. Part II of a 2-part series looks at a variety of case law examples to help illustrate the types of legal liability exposure and negligence lawsuits that can occur in health/fitness professionals and students to not only increase their knowledge of the law and how it applies to the field, but also to expose them to the many risk-management strategies that they can develop and implement to help minimize legal liability exposure for both themselves and the organizations they represent.
