While experiential methods can take kids beyond textbooks and into the outdoors for authentic hands-on learning, Experiential Squared: The High Trails Outdoor Education Center (HTOEC) Curriculum Model explains why the experience can be taken a step further. Based on the premise of giving kids a reason to want to learn, HTOEC has practiced a powerful teaching model for over forty years to make learning fun. In that regard, the DVD reviews some of the key attributes of the HTOEC model, including role playing, living history, and a sense of wonder, that can transform any place or ecology-based science curriculum into an interdisciplinary, engaging experience for kids of all ages.
