The most current Physical Activity Guidelines for Americans recommended that pregnant women participate in at least 150 min/wk of at least moderate aerobic activity in the absence of pregnancy complications. Canadian, Norwegian, and Danish guidelines similarly endorse physical activity during pregnancy. Health Benefits of Physical Activity During Pregnancy: International Evidence describes the current epidemiological evidence regarding maternal and child health benefits of physical activity during pregnancy. The DVD looks at findings from U.S., Canadian, and Norwegian cohort studies and details practical implications for health care and exercise professionals who are working with pregnant women. The DVD also highlights gaps in current knowledge, as well as presents suggestions for future research directions.
